WGUK
& IPE partnership in 2010
WinterGuard United Kingdom (WGUK) & Indoor
Percussion Europe (IPE) are pleased to announce that for 2010
they will be working in partnership to bring two indoor
percussion events to the UK including the IPE European
Championships which will be held in Crawley, West Sussex on
Sunday 4th April.
For the past two years WGUK has held the UK Indoor Percussion
Championships as part of the Winterguard event and this
collaboration will allow the percussion units the opportunity to
perform together with groups from across Europe as this new and
exciting art form begins to take shape in the UK. The other IPE
sanctioned event will take place in Burgess Hill on Sunday 14th
March as part of the WGUK contest and UK units will also have
the opportunity of performing at other WGUK events throughout
the winter.
Mark Gutteridge, WGUK Chairman stated "Working with IPE
will increase the profile of this very new activity in the UK
and we are pleased to be able to also include the 3rd UK Indoor
Percussion Championships as part of the European Champions at
the beginning of April"
"IPE is very excited about our partnership with WGUK"
says Erwin van Gemert of IPE. "With an increased focus on
indoor percussion, we are excited at the potential of this
relationship and look forward to many productive years to come.
Over the years, WGUK has consistently provide quality events.
The collective experience of WGUK and their staff make a
terrific extension for IPE to create a full Indoor Percussion
circuit throughout Europe. With the help of WGUK we can organise
two of the five events in the UK this year. With Indoor
Percussion as our centrepiece, IPE is very glad to start this
partnership with WGUK".
"Indoor Percussion is an important part of our ongoing
winter strategy" commented MPA:UK Chairman, Alan Thompson,
"and I am delighted that IPE feel they can commit to
holding two events in the UK this coming season and look forward
to working with them to provide quality European events."
Keep an eye on both the WGUK
and IPE
websites for more details as they are released.
