Pegasus Join Bristol Academy of Sport for 2010

Pegasus Colour Guard and Filton College have joined forces in an exciting new development for the 2009/10 academic year. For the first time it is now possible to study Colour Guard at College. Filton College’s Head of Dance and Pegasus Staff member Natalie Slater has started a Colour Guard class as part as part of a BTEC National Diploma in Musical Theatre.

Whilst this is common place in America, it is thought that this is the first time this has happened in a UK college. Students will be performing with Pegasus in the competition season, using the experience to build individual portfolios to complete their course work.

Membership of Pegasus is open to all and the club have an open day for anybody interested in seeing Colour Guard and Winterguard on Saturday November 7th from 2pm to 5pm, at the Filton College WISE Campus. Current Colour Guard members will display and coach what colour guard has to offer and are looking for new recruits of all ages for the 2010 competition season.

Pegasus Open Class show will again be written and taught by Jeff Wroblewski from the USA who gained worldwide recognition for his visual designs and teaching. Pegasus will also take the Bristol Academy brand name as they become a permanent part of Filton College’s growing list of community clubs.
