Vintage are IP Champions 2010
On Sunday 4th April the Indoor
Percussion Europe European Championships took place at the
K2 Centre in Crawley and featured performances from 10 drumlines
in 3 classes plus a clinic and exhibition from the WGI World
Class Tyler Junior College from Texas, USA and an performance by
the members of the Senators Bass Drum line.
There were 5 units in the International Marching Class from 3
countries of which the top placed unit would be awarded European
Champions and the highest placed UK unit would crowned WGUK
British Champions. After a close Prelims contest in the
morning followed by and even closer Finals in the afternoon,
Vintage, were victorious and became both British & European
Champions - making it a hat trick of UK titles for the Bristol based
group having also won the UK title in 2008 and 2009. The
other UK unit in this class, Alliance IP (from Suffolk Essex and Bedfordshire), came in 5th.
In the European Marching Class, where three units were
competing, the title went to New Generation from Belgium whilst
in the Concert Class, where two units battled it out, the
Champions were the UK's Southern Aurora from Brighton.
