Thurrock Academy announces 2018 Junior class program

Press Release from Thurrock Academy

It is with immense pleasure that Thurrock Academy announce their 2018 program, “Try” under the direction of Charmaine Mansfield.

After a two year absence from the Winter Guard United Kingdom circuit the long anticipated return to the field of competition for Thurrock Academy has arrived.

Speaking of the announcement Guard Director, Charmaine Mansfield said: “I am so pleased to be leading the effort to bring back this great name to the WGUK arena. It is a name that I have spent the better part of my life growing up with, both watching my Dad Ken create and teach some truly amazing productions as well as performing, writing and teaching at all levels myself. This is a truly special moment in TMB’s history and one that I know all my Thurrock Academy family out there will be pleased to hear. We will be bringing the performers back into the Junior class level initially and will look at a full development program over the coming months and years but for now, we are about to embark on a new journey and one that I couldn’t be happier being a part of.”

Adding to this Corps Director, Jay Lindner comments: “Appointing Charmaine Mansfield as my Guard Director and to oversee all things Winter Guard was probably one of my easiest decisions I have had to make so far as Corps Director. Her abilities and dedication to this part of the marching and performing arts is well known and to have her lead this effort gives me great comfort that all the members involved will benefit greatly as a result. I have to confess, I don’t fully understand the complexities of Winter Guard, but I do fully appreciate the very many benefits that this brings to our summer efforts as the colourguard will only get stronger as a result, which is a massive positive for us all round. Good luck Charmaine and I can’t wait to see the program being performed”.

Thurrock Marching Brass is proud to perform as much as they can within the local community and you can find out more and how to get involved via any of the following:-
