In Birmingham in February 1980 the first Winter Guard Championships took place and so 2025 sees us celebrate 45 years of Winter Guard in the UK.  In addition our sister organisation, Drum Corps United Kingdom, was formed in the same year – so it’s a double celebration.

All the members of the units that performed as part of the WGUK Winter Guard season or DCUK SoundSport events this past winter have been given either a WGUK or DCUK 45 Year Patch as a memento of this milestone in our history.
