Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, WGUK has run as an extended “virtual season” this year as we have been unable to hold any live shows. Normally we would have finished the winter with the British Championships on the first weekend of April however as this was not possible, as well as running on line events during the normal season dates, we have held a number of additional Virtual Showcases in April, June and July to allow teams to show off what they have been able to learn over the last few months.
One of the last things we do each season is announce our Long Service Award winners and although we have not had a normal season the WGUK Board wanted to still ensure these performers were acknowledged.
These awards are based on 5, 10, 15 and 20 years service only and are only awarded to performing members. Service is normally based on performing at WGUK events but for 2021 we have allowed member organisation to register members even though we have been unable to hold live events. The awards are based on registration data and only available to members of organisations that have signed up to the scheme.
Congratulations to the members of: Alliance Dance Performance Ensemble, Anchormen Dance Teams, Avengers Winterguard, Commodores Colour Guard, Imperial Winterguard, Kidsgrove Scouts Mayflower winterguard, Northern Academy of Performing Arts NAPA – Sheffield, Oracle Winter Guard, Spice Winterguard – SCG & Southern Knights Performing Arts
