Winter Guard United Kingdom

Thinking of starting a WG unit. Take a look “Behind the Scenes”

Have you ever thought of starting your own Winter Guard? Interested in what goes on “Behind the Scenes” for a performing unit on a show day?

The Winter Guard United Kingdom Board is keen to grow the number of organisations and young people that take part in this fantastic activity.

If you have ever thought of starting your own group, or perhaps know of someone else who may be interested, then we are here to help, with:
• Financial support for your first two seasons
• Access to a dedicated mentor who has experience of running their own unit
• A full package of assistance, including policies on child protection, guidance in obtaining charitable status for fundraising, finding rehearsal space etc

The main locations we are looking to help with are:
• South Coast – from Portsmouth to Bournemouth/Poole
• Birmingham (including Coventry/Wolverhampton)
• East Midlands/M1 corridor – Leicester to Derby/Nottingham
• North and West of London – incorporating Reading/Oxford/Luton

These areas are preferred because of their current lack of units and to avoid any issues with existing organisations, but of course, we would happily talk to anyone wherever they are based!

So, if you or someone you know would like to find out more about WGUK and running a Winter Guard then why not make contact with Tammy Clegg, WGUK Recruitment Co-ordinator and arrange a chat or book a place on one of our “2022 WGUK Behind-the-Scenes Guided Sessions” at one of the following 2022 shows:
• Sunday 17th January 2022 at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke on Trent
• Sunday 13th February 2022 at University of Essex Arena, Wivenhoe, Colchester
• Sunday 27th February 2022 at GL1 Leisure Centre, Gloucester
• Sunday 13th March 2022 at Triangle Leisure Centre, Burgess Hill
